Tips to visit Prague
In Prague, you’ll meet locals known as Pražané. Greeting people here is pretty straightforward; a simple “Ahoj” or “Dobrý den” (hello or good day) works well. Most folks speak Czech, but English is widely understood, especially in tourist spots.
People usually eat their meals a bit later than in some places—lunch around noon to 2 PM and dinner from 7 PM onward. Shops and businesses typically open from 9 AM to 6 PM, but some places might close a bit earlier on weekends. Tipping around 10% is appreciated but not required.
Healthcare is top-notch, with both public and private options available. Dress code in Prague is casual, but if you’re heading to a nice restaurant or theater, a smart outfit is a good idea. You might hear “Děkuji” (thank you) and “Prosím” (please) often as these are common polite expressions.
